Exploring Zululand

Was chatting a mate who is building a bush plane to do some surf and dive exploring and adventures up and down the coast. It reminded me of a pic of my grandfather and his plane in the 50's when they did the same thing along the Zululand and Mozambique coast. Now days the spots they went have roads and are well know. Back then there was no Google Earth, they just flew over spots that looks good and pitched a tent. There are still places like this out there...... #throwbackthursday #surfing #surfadventure #Spearfishing #adventure via Instagram http://ift.tt/1yykVyP

Big Desisions

3 Of my favourite boards

Big decisions this morning. VBowl vs Bonzer vs Charger? I wish I had enough energy to ride all of them.  via Instagram http://ift.tt/1IT7rgQ

Class Bohar Snapper

Was looking for Couta in the clean water when I saw this guy teasing me. 3 dives later, lots of croaking and hiding in the cracks his curiosity got the better of him. Class fish for our side of the world. 7kg (gutted) Bohar (Two / Twin Spot) Snapper

5 Fin Bonzer Surfboard

5 Fin Bonzer Surfboard by Hutchison Hand Crafted
Winter this year is going to be a little more interesting with this crazy Bonza that Johno Hutchison shaped me. It's not a small board 6'2" x 20 1/2" x 2 3/4" and glassed nice and strong. Made for those super round well over head days.

Shoaling Hammerhead Sharks

I recently got back from a dive trip in Mozambique where I dived this one place with loads of sharks. The one spot had hundreds of shoaling Hammerhead Sharks down between 25-30m. You could not see them from the surface but once you got down below the shoals of fish they were there in huge numbers.
